That Summer Giveaway and A Little ACFW Prep

August is almost over. How did that happen? This summer is zooming by, meaning it's time I kept my promise and gave y'all that book giveaway!

The contest will run until September 9, about two weeks. Go ahead and share with your friends--everyone loves free books, right?

Let's get that started:

If you're extra interested in these books, visit each of their Amazon pages.

ACFW Prep:

The ACFW Conference is mere weeks away...

What am I doing to prepare, you ask?
Well, I chose the talented Angie Dicken to design my One-Sheet and business cards. That might be one of the best decisions I've made this summer because she's a design genius. And I'm most definitely not.

Besides that, there's the busyness of polishing my story and organizing a proposal and pitch. Plus shopping for a dress for the Awards Gala. And clothes for the rest of the conference too because I'm sorta thinking my work scrubs won't be appropriate.

If you need some tips on ACFW prep, try blogs like SeekervilleThe Writer's Alley, and The Books and Such Agency Blog. Search their archives and recent posts. You'll find gold there.

To think, a bunch of us will be in Dallas soon...

Looking forward to meeting y'all!

Let the giveaway begin!

  2. I am not going to the conference. I had a busy summer. Went to three different reunions from three different branches of the family.

    1. Oh, Laurie, you DO sound busy. But spending time with family is priceless. I'm realizing that more and more now that I'm married and no longer living with my parents. :) Thanks for entering!

  4. It seems like I have spent most of this summer running family to the doctor, just regular visits but it seems they all came due around the same time, lol.

  5. Wow! Summer's over already! Seems like every year we get older, time passes by much faster. By the time summer's over, the rest of the year zips by with the various holidays. Can you believe it - - in some stores they have Christmas stuff out before school even starts....what's up with that? Thanks for the giveaway...they are all new authors for me and they are going on my to read list pronto!

    1. Oh, I know! Christmas is pushed so much--as if the stores want to skip over Thanksgiving. I do love the holidays, but I want to enjoy each one individually. :)

And you're welcome! (I would put Kate Breslin's novel on top of your TBR list, if you don't win.)
      :)

  6. My summer was full of kids and a plethora of activities. I am actually excited for next week when they go back to school and I have a bit more reading time.

Courtney, I dabble in many genres within Christian lit, but I would have to say that contemporary romance is my favorite. I wish you the best and I'm excited to one see and read your novels. Now that I'm subscribed, I'm sure I will see regular updates. With the exception of A Plain Love Song, the books in your giveaway have been on my "must-read" list in by tbr. Not that I don't want to read Kelly Irvin's book; I just hadn't been aware. I just received Kate Breslin's second novel (Not By Sight) a couple of weeks ago and plan to dive into it in September. Enjoy your time at the conference and best wishes for your future success. I truly am excited to read your work!

    1. Summer is always so busy, and I don't even have kids yet. Can't imagine how busy it would be with them. :)

Thanks so much for the support! Contemporary romance is my favorite as well. You'll definitely receive updates as a subscriber. Thank you for signing up--that's something publishers like to see, I've heard.

I have Kate Breslin's second novel on my TBR pile as well. Hoping to dive into it sometime after the conference.

I'm so grateful you stopped by. :)

    1. I envy your reading time this summer. :) As I've been preparing for the conference, I haven't had much time for any reading. Looking forward to doing more of that after September.

Great to hear from you, Pam!

  9. I am not going to the ACFW conference this year, but I would certainly love to. I am frankly putting a lot on hold due to the closing of the radio station I work at. I am hoping all will go well and I can join ACFW, work my tail off this year and maybe join in the fun next year. I wish you the best! I saw your one sheet at your Facebook page and it is brilliant! :) Thanks for the giveaway!

Yeah, Angie did an amazing job capturing the story's visuals. Glad you like it! :)

  10. OOOPs I forgot to mention what it is I am doing this summer. My husband and I have been taking the time to just enjoy our hometown and state. It has been all about staycation day trips. Fortunately in Arizona that means there are a lot of pretty neat things to see and if you time it right, you can do it rather inexpensively. We did a trip to the Grand Canyon on the last free National Park day. i am hoping to hit a local farm in September. I love celebrating the fall at a farm!

  12. I'm a reader not a writer, so no plans to go to AFCW. Sadly my husband and I have been caring for elderly loved ones this summer. We squeeze in a quick weekend trip to the beach in July.
